Happy heat of the summer to you!  Perhaps you are a pool owner and love when the Kansas heat rolls in, but as a non pool owner, it is hot and the sweating has begun.  As a Kansan, we are used to literally going from heat to air conditioning and perhaps back and forth a few times before we have constant heat of the summer.  In NOTO, this time of year is quite toasty for us in our 100 year old buildings with a/c that simply just can’t keep up.  Today while I worked on flipping the showroom I realized I was loosing a battle of sweating and heat rising in Pinkadilly.  At 83 inside I realized I lost and pooped out.
I’ve tried to keep you all kept up for the most part as the timeline goes for milestones and excitement in my life including listing my home and moving!  I was very lucky when the second showing of my home returned an offer and like that my in-between little house was sold and I was ready for the next adventure.

**on a complete side note, if you need local movers, call Techo Movers.  They were absolutely amazing from start to finish and made my move truly as stress free as moving can be.

I’m sure I am not any different than you when it comes to the idea of moving.  It isn’t any fun, but in the end it is so worth it!  So when looking for this home I really tried to learn from the things of my last home.  Things I  hated and things I missed from my prior home, and must haves that I wasn’t budging on.  After watching homes in the Topeka area for quite some time, looking at a few houses that weren’t the right pick, I finally found a home that accounted for all my must haves including things to make the house my home.  I am quite proud of myself I have tried to really document each and every step of a repair or improvement I have made to the home to be able to share fun ideas and to be able to personally watch it’s transformation.

So far it has been minor changes here and there.  Working on the outside while I have had gorgeous weather has made me love my choice of home even more.  Of course we look at the yard and it’s surroundings but you never really know about your yard until one settles in, and I love my yard.  Thus far, every evening I have spent the majority of nights outside whether alone or entertaining.  It’s such a breathe of fresh air for me.  Literally.

Do want to include some fun pictures of latest happenings and including my lil Roma dog and her new doggie door, that she handles like a boss!  Granted, my little love tends to be a tad bit special so this may be the spoiled version for a quirky dog, but it works!

Stop in and say hello, I’m in the shop most days!         Jenny

P.S.  Moving tip...I saw this on Pinterest and it worked perfectly!  I purchased a plethora of duct tape designs and labeled each box with strips of tape to show movers what room to physically place the box.  Regardless if there is someone there to direct or not, the movers were able to keep moving because of the quick visual of the duct tape.    Then within the tape, I was then able to label what all was inside of the box for ease in unpacking.  I also made a very conscious decision as I was packing to organize and purge.  A month after my move I would say my new home is fairly organized and unpacked for the most part!
