If you ever visit and you happen to catch me staring...just standing still, staring at the wall, I'm trying to get a vision. Sometimes it might take a while, but this is kind of the fun part to me! It's a challenge...and if you know me, you know I am always up for one of those. I love when I stand back and study an area or focal point and can feel it's vibe...which many times reflect that of the home owner.
I wanted to leave this arrangement as much the same as I could to show the change in the area's feel, and how just swapping out a few items can change a room entirely. Accessories might be a wee bit lighter after this weekend but that's always good in my case!
So when Chris and I were tackling the CASA house, we wanted to try and pull together accessories for the home that would allow transitions like this also. Because let's be real, not everyone loves to pull out all the stops as the seasons change, nor do they have the budget or the space. Finding reasonable accessories that transition and can be dressed up or down stretch your dollar and your usability.
We are much further than these pictures show but we can't reveal the finished products just quite yet. You will have to make sure to join CASA's Homes for the Holiday tour and then head over for our holiday open house Saturday and Sunday 10-5pm. I plan to be at the shop all weekend and of course as always, love to help you shop! Wether it be decorating or a gift, plus we will be happy to gift wrap for you.
I look forward to showing you again once all the final touches are in place. It has been fun using the metals this season and having a home owner so willing to just hang back and let us do what we love to do. See you this weekend!
I can't believe that it is almost Christmas! Maybe our holidays run together like our temperatures here in Kansas. There isn't much of a transition, we go straight from one to the next. You would think we would be used to it on both sides (weather and the retail) but we never are.
One thing I do love is watching the trends and following the hot colors that transition from season to season. We have watched the gold accents come on huge and lots of additions of blues. TONS of navy!! One of the best things about bringing the gold in, is it allows you so much more flexibility with your decorating. Alls metals together is huge this season. Just because you have pulled out your gold accessories, doesn't mean you have to put away your silver. Just get some champagne colored, or bronze to connect the two.
One of my favorite things I love to do is a create a challenge for myself to purchase accessories that can be used year round and not need to be put away at the end of the season. Just changed! Mercury glass is perfect for that and now you can find in so many colors. We have lots of silver, gold and copper which are perfect to link your metals. Plus, they can be used all year round as shown above. If I just took those blue out and replaced with something red it changes the entire feel of it.
Tomorrow I am starting to work on this years CASA home and can't wait!! It is a gorgeous home that Chris and I will get to put our touch on. Will try and share as soon as I can.
PS Mark down our holiday open house, it will be Saturday November 21 and Sunday 22 from 10-5pm.
